Services

Free Consultation

A complimentary 1 hour consultation to provide information and to get to know each other. If we decide that we are a good match for each other, we sign a contract. A down payment is due once the contract is signed. The remaining balance is due at your 37 week visit. It is never too early or too late to hire a doula.

Phone & Email Support

There is absolutley NO LIMIT to our communication before, during, and after birth. You are free to Email, Text, Or Call me at anytime.

2-4 Prenatal Visits

Each meeting lasts 1-2 hours. These visits give us time to get to know each other so that I can support you in a more personal way. We discuss how to create a safe environment for your labor and write a birth plan. You’ll have the opportunity to explore desires and visions around your birth as well as discuss any emotions and fears surrounding the big day. We will review and practice breathing and comfort techniques, as well as labor positions. If delivering at a hospital, we go over what to expect as well as informed consent.

As a Doula, I  Do Not:

During labor

During early labor you are to call or text me. If needed I will provide phone support and guidance. In person support begins at home or place of delivery when there’s a shift in the contractions. What I mean by that is that the contractions are becoming more demanding. They are getting stronger, longer and closer together. During labor & birth I support you and your partner with pain coping skills, massage, emotional support, advocacy and encouragement. Doulas are usually the only continuous support you’ll receive during labor and delivery.

Perform any clinical tasks

I do not perform clinical tasks such as vaginal exams or fetal heart monitoring. I do not give medical advice or diagnose conditions. I do not deliver the baby. I do not change shifts

Make decisions for you

You are your own person. I do not make decisions for you, and I will not judge you because of your decision.

Baby’s first feeding Support

Once baby is born I will stay and help you with your first feeding, be it breastfeeding or formula.

Speak to the staff on your behalf

I may ask if you'd like to discuss a matter longer, but it will be up to you to communicate your wishes with your provider and nurses.  I will help you research the birth process prior to labor so that you and your partner will feel confident and be comfortable speaking up on your own behalf. This does not mean I will not talk to the staff at all; I simply won't be your spokesman

Postpartum follow-up visit

First visit after baby is born and brought home (usually in the first week or two) I do a four hour stop by that way I am at least there for one feeding. I am there to ensure You, Spouse, and Baby are all adjusting well to your new schedules.

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience

I will not allow my personal values or biases get in the way of caring for you. I am an educator not a preacher. I will not try to persuade you to do anything that you are not sure of or uncomfortable with.
