My Story
Hello! I am Anika Shafer born and raised in Central Florida. After years of wondering in what direction I wanted to take my life I finally found it, with a little help I enrolled at B.A.I and began my life as a Doula. I can now help expectant mothers make the most of their birth experiences. I have truly never been so passionate about a career choice in all of my living. I am here to create positive, satisfying, safe, and empowering birth experiences. For years I dreamed of an all natural, positive birth and thanks to my husband and mother I was able to achieve my goal. Now I would like to help other mothers achieve their goals of having a positive birth experience.

I believe birth is an instinctive, primal experience that works in it own way at it's own time. Modern technology is an amazing thing but it's drawing our attention away from the heart of what birth truly is. In this day and time the natural and innate abilities a woman holds when it comes to birth is overlooked. Women should have as much control as possible when it comes to their bodies and determining their care. Once educated and encouraged a woman can become more involed and active in their births instead of being simply passive.
